A Deep Insight On Denture

A denture is a dental procedure that means removable replacement of missing teeth by implanting artificial teeth in the gums. This not only helps people in eating food properly but also improves the appearance of their smile. Dentures Heathmont improve oral health to a great extent.

For a dentist, nothing is more rewarding than restoring the natural smile of a patient by the successful implantation of dentures. When natural teeth are missing, dentures contribute to a great extent in maintaining the strength of the facial muscles. Although dentures indeed take time to settle down as they are false teeth but that doesn’t mean that you cannot eat or drink till that.

There are two types of dentures provided by the dentist’s complete dentures and partial dentures.

 Complete dentures

These dentures are greatly preferred by old patients. Complete dentures are made as soon as the original teeth have been removed and the gum has healed. Complete dentures are either conventional or immediate. The entire process is not painful at all. Your dentist will make sure that the entire process is completely painless and takes less time. We know that this process is long especially when it comes to complete dentures. The entire process takes about 8 to 12 weeks after the gum has completely healed.

Immediate dentures take much less time since they can be positioned as soon as the teeth are removed. Many patients prefer getting immediate dentures because of this very reason. But one big disadvantage linked to the immediate dentures is that they are temporary as they are made as soon as the teeth are removed so gums do not get enough time and space to heal. If you have time then we would highly suggest you to prefer getting conventional dentures over immediate dentures.

 Partial dentures

Partial dentures means replacement teeth that are attached to the gum with the help of a metal framework. This type of dentures is most commonly used when one or more natural teeth remain in the upper and lower jaw. The teeth are replaced by putting crowns on the teeth. The spaces in the jaw are filled by these crowns and artificial teeth are attached. Partial dentures prevent other teeth from changing position. One advantage that partial denture has over other types of dentures is that it is completely removable. It keeps the teeth aligned and hold them in their place.

Concerning your oral health, we would highly recommend you to book an appointment with your favorite dentist. Someone you trust. The dentist would examine your oral cavity, jaw, and mouth, in general, to tell what type of dentures do you need. Doesn’t matter the things that people say, you should always try to follow what your doctor tells you to do.
